Well,we had a good bike run, but didnt manage to do the Dalveen Pass, it'll wait to another time
We set off from here (near Kilmarnock),on to the A76 , through Kirkconnel and Sanquhar, onto the B797,( Mennock Pass) through Wanlockhead and Leadhills and out at Elvanfoot .
Mennock Pass
From there to Elvanfoot and down the B7076 to Moffat, then up to the Cafe at St Marys Loch, (cheers FSM ye beat me to the pics)
Must be popular route for North England ,loads of English guys on bikes

p.s Mike, didnt see your question aboot camping opposite cafe 'till i got home sorry, i cant see a problem though, its only when campers leave bags of rubbish etc,it pisses folk off
Cafe at St marys loch.
Then we went past cafe a short distance, maybe a mile or so,,turned left onto the .....,errrr,..it's unmarked on my map, but goes right across onto the A701 which leads you back into Moffat again.
This wee road is a cracker, great scenery, loads of viewpoints, but mostly single track with passing places, but you can see far ahead, so no worries, its worth it for the views, im sure you'll agree
The road drops away down twisting steeply ,then follows up the right hand side of the loch
Then home via B7076 (a fast road, motorway speeds easily for long stretches),then through Muirkirk, and Sorn, past Cupasoops hoose

,then home
