Really bad time of year to sell, but whats it worth?

Post by Sparks »

I'm thinking of selling my storm for various reasons. It's red 99 T reg with 12k miles, well looked after, its pretty much mint to be honest. Comes with dark tint screen, seat cowl and scorpion cans.... originals included as well as a haynes manual and optimate charger. I've barely ridden it and the previous owner didn't ride it much either!

What sort of price am I looking at? Is £2000 a bit too optimistic at this time of year?

hmmmn let me think now ......... £1900 sounds about right dont you think Zipper. Looks to be worth up to £2K mate maybe more with the right buyer.

Looks a very nice bike that mate. V clean for the year.

In saying that Storms are a bit of a funny one when it comes to 2nd hand sales. They dont hold there value like other similar bikes.

Also, the market is full of them and i know dealers who cant shift them-thats not to say they're not a good bike. I loved mine :)

I think 1900 would be excellent if you could get it under the current climate.

Good luck :)

Cheers guys, I think I'll try for £2000 ovno see how it goes!

I do like the bike a lot but I just don't find it suitable for what I planned to use it for at all.. so I'm changing, thinking of an Aprilia Falco at the moment 8)

I barely ride the bike anyways and will probably barely ride whatever I buy next

It's not 100% mint true to the word, its got a couple of tiny scratches, but its been well looked after and as far as I can tell, from the past few owners at least its only been ridden in dry weather. I've spent more time cleaning it than riding it. done about 500 miles at most since I got it

Good luck mate! Hope you get what you want for it. If i was looking for another Storm id be interested. Its a very clean & tidy bike :D

I looked at a Falco when I swapped. V good bike imo. Better than the mille as a road bike imo  Depends what "pose value" you want I suppose

At the moment with the credit situation, winter coming, fuel costs and these bikes tending to be big boyz toyz etc etc.

1500 - 1600 would be about tops I reckon. Sorry. Hope you get more though

On that note - I only just noticed Honda had stopped producing the Storm - What year was it last manufactured?

*Sigh* the pic reminds me of my 97er when I bought it in 1999 for £4500 with 6K - I'd snap Spark's storm up if I had the dosh just to be assured I keep stormin for another decade.
