Deven places to stay short break where to?

Myself and the GF both bikers are thinking of heading down to Deven to stay for a night or perhaps two... short break next week. Anyone recommend any good hotels or B&B's must be very cheap good value pref somewhere senic with good places to walk and biking of course pref near the shops and beach.

On some websites they quote 48 quid for a double room so it might be a seasonal thing.
