Bad news.....

Post by bikermike1411 »

sorry for the extended absence, still in fallout from honeymoon (catching up with work etc, not divorce!)

Anyway, i'm not certain if any of you chaps are from Sheffield/Doncaster/Rotherham way, but I thought i'd let you know. My cousin Andy was killed on his ZX6R on the A631 (?) heading towards Bawtry on Wednesday afternoon. It's been on the bbc website and a couple of local press sites. Initial reports are sketchy, but police want to talk to a cyclist who may have 'witnessed the accident'. No other people were involved in the incident.

I don't know the road, but it happened heading towards Bawtry just after the Stripe Road junction - it looks like a fast right/left looking at Google Earth. Does anyone know this stretch of road? Just trying to come to terms with it at the moment.

Cheers chaps, it's just a bit weird - kinda to close to home for comfort. I'll not be packing biking in or anything like that, but the repercussions kinda make you realise what would happen if it was me who didn't come home. Think i'll be addressing my riding style....not quite ready for a Varadero yet though!
