i think seeing as we're halfway there at newtown, i'll take the lead and take you on a nice little detour down some cracking twisties.
would be awesome if we can incorporate this run in the day geo - you will fkin love it :)

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

not really..... you can get to it from the 4391.... it is worth it mate even if we have to double back 10 miles.
also, the route from welshpool to newtown is crap... especially on a weekend as its a bit too trafficky.
doing the b road route cuts all that out - superb roads :)

wait til you see the 4391! its awesome! not a fast road tho.... last weekend, we freewheeled all the way down and got up to 85mph lol!
nice pub at the bottom for a cold one as well

the route would be the opposite of what i posted lol, going from bala toward ellesmere then following down toward craven arms which brings us out at newtown - conveniently right opposite a bp garage with a bog!
then its half a mile off crossgates....
i do that run regularly as its some of my favourite roads :)

btw - ignore the 'temporary road surface' signs on crossgates - they are just there to cover their butt as the centreline is a bit pitted in parts, but not enough to cause a problem.

and why turn round at builth wells???? carry on towards lampeter then onto tregaryn then take the b4343 all the way back to the 44, (well, the B road under it that goes past devil's bridge) then do a right into rhayader....
only saying this cos ive found it recently and its an amazing ride!

cos it looks like you're going past builth for about 10 miles then heading back up the main roads lol!!!
carry on a bit toward camarthen then take the road toward lampeter - i think its the a482???
that takes you onto the 4343 - zoom in on it and look at all the bends lol, its amazing, relentless and very demanding, and high up and steep drops off (look in satellite view!)

you cant go all that way and miss these roads lol! :Ball Kick:

when you get close to lampeter, take a right on the 482 up toward tregaron then follow the b4343 which will put us back on your original route, but down better roads!
the 4343 goes right over the top of the moutains :)

Benny, put a route together that meets the criteria of

Starting off going through the Elan Valley
includes Bala (via the Dam Afon Trywern)
includes the section of brecon specifically including the right turn off the A40 past Trecastle

And keeping it below 300 miles

It needs to be a route suitable for all levels of riding unless you talk to Al about doing a different route for the progressive group.

you need your eye on the road at all times lol.... its very demanding on the b roads.
theres plenty of places to get a move on though.
for the cruisers, they will love the views, for the scratchers, they will love the bends dips jumps and cambers!

something for everyone.

if people want to wuss out they can skip bits and take the A roads. but they will have to wear a roadcone on their head in the pub later. :Ball Kick:

btw - found an awesome kebab shop in rhayader the other week :Beer Popcorn:
