WOOHOO....guys i just found this priced very reasonably.

Image

Has lots of history......rebuild 3000 miles ago...has a stan stevens yz piston ring conversion. this is what ad says : -

This bike has been my pride and joy for the last 3 years, its heartbreaking to advertise this little beaut but its time for me to upgrade to something bigger, iv had countless fun times on this RGV. The bike is in excellent Condition, Metallic Purple (Movie Star Telefonica Paint Scheme) with Polished Frame, Swing Arm and Wheel Rims, Steering Damper, Dep Exhaust Cans, Single seat unit, Tinted Screen, Braided Hoses for Front and Rear Brake Lines, Mini Numberplate & indicators, Recently New Heavy Duty D.I.D O-ring Chain Fitted and New Sprocket, good tyres all-round with a 180 wide on the back wheel. The bike is in excellent running condition and is fitted with a pair of Yamaha YZ125 single ring Wiseco racing pistons. This is one of Stan Stevens famous RGV250 conversions which gives less friction on the cylinder walls and produces a quicker rate of acceleration, Wiseco brand of pistons are also three times stronger then standard stock pistons. Iv done about 3000 miles since these pistons were fitted and have gained a lot more acceleration, performance and the bike is still 100% reliable and has never let me down. Yamaha R6 handlebar clip-ons fitted, Alarm, always fully serviced and tuned, Tax till the end of March 2008 and MOT'd till December 2008.

What do u think and how much u think i "should" pay?

cheers : john'o

i got it :D

Its not as tidy as in the pics.......paint is bubbly in places and a few cracks and digs in the fairing but i got his price down and secured it.

Been out a few times on it and all i can say is YIPEE!! i love that engine and the surefootedness round corners. gotta love that smell too( eff the green brigade lol).

Anyway....i am gonna spend a bit more and tart it up for spring. bit o tlc and itll be sweet.

Am considering 3 things

1 bring it back to original blue and white condition.

2 get a lucky strike scheme on it.

3 get a body kit from tyga and have that painted in one colour and have the decals laquered back on

like this but painted up.

i had the same model rgv had it air flowed, baffels cut and removed, jack up kit custom paint etc etc these bikes are so soft the powervalves have a tendency to break , pistons melt, heads warp allways check for water etc! my rgv siezed solid at speed three times! i would self mix all the time if i was you, only use top quality 2stroke this guy has done good quality and well known mods but watch after owning mine for 2 years someone put nice carbon frame protectors on i liked them so never removed them until a newly made biker friend pointed out that they could be hiding crash damage so checked and sure as there was a 3inch gouge down the frame! most have been thrashed and raced so watch out.
if in doubt floor it!

if u want to race flash your blue lights!

Pleased too hear you've got yourself sorted with another bike John'o :D and a cool looking machine at that 8)

Chris.

PS. I think the Tyga body kit looks good, but I also like the orginal blue and white colour scheme. It's really down to personal choice imo

Nice bike buddy, IMO go with the original colour scheme. If you get it right the bike can only go up in value.

Never ridden a two stroke though, how much power has it got in comparison to the storm (i don't mean figures, more like how it feels)

Well........i have never ridden one before now and to be honest i am amazed.

Its like kicking a cheetah in the bollox and jumping on for the ride  .........

keep it bubblin some and as soon as u hit 8 thou the world changes bro.....the world.....just ....changes.

It will even squirm a darkie and shimmy in a straight line when it kicks in if your weight is over the front of the bike.....i would imagine you'd have to be not carefull, but tentative with the throttle in the bends or you will come a cropper coz its so light( only around 130kg ).

comparing it 2 the storm cannot be done really they are way to different a kettle of fish........but i would say it would give it a run for its money on a short straight and utterly destroy it in corners( and i had a rogered one ).

I love it to be honest, complete hoonery and hooliganism at its best....i will restore cherish and keep this one for ages. do miss that BIG BOOM twin i had tho :(
