No more than two full turns out, and all will be fine.

If the tickover speeds up as you undo the bolt, it was too tight.
Should the final adjustment be done whilst the engine is cold or warmed up?

Hot.
They may rattle very slightly when cold, but that's fine.
Much better that than over tight when hot.

But now you can curse not buying Bazza's, unless you did, because getting to the front one behind the hot coolant hose is a pain.......... literally a pain....... :eek2

Bazza's conversions stand clear of the pipe, and can be adjusted easily.

And no, I'm not on commission

How about turning off the fuel tap and forgetting to turn it on again?

I only ever got the hose in the wrong position once, but I forget to turn the fuel on fairly often.

This was something I asked about, mine rattle when cold but quickly tighten up when the engine heats up.

Got the same answer which was a bit rethorical anyway from an enginner and repair man and Tony.mon, which was " only worry and adjust them when you hear the noise when hot ".

That makes sense as things expand. Over tight would make bearings and things work harder.

Cheers guys.

Think I did it once (maybe twice) but then read on here somewhere that I don't need to turn it off as I have the early tank lol

Had the tank off a few times since and not once turned off the tank! :D
