There's plenty of "beard specific" conditioners, oils and shampoos out there. And the "beard" companies are making a killing at the moment, as every bugger seems to think it's trendy to have face fuzz (All the hipsters wearing them acting all "retro").MacV2 wrote:...Is there a specific beard shampoo on the market or is normal head hair shampoo ok to use ?

I used to use a home-made cedar wood oil blend. Pour a few drops of that into the hand, rub it around to warm it up, and then feed the fingers through the beard to keep it healthy. But, it's kinda greasy and no use on the bike as it leaves permanent marks in the helmet lining. So, I scrapped using that stuff.
I've tried other "beard only" shampoos, but haven't been happy with any of them.
Best shampoo to use would NOT contain chemicals like sodium laurel sulphates, (the stuff that makes all the shampoo froth, strips all the oil from yer fuzzy bits and can cause eczema type dry skin), as that crap dries out the hair and damages it.
What I use, and is the best and nicest smelling, is my dogs shampoo: "Fuzzyard Organic Jojoba and Basil dog shampoo". (sulphate free, PH balanced, no colours and no artificial fragrances.). jojoba oil, basil and eucalyptus extracts.
About £13 quid for 220ml. (I know that's expensive for a 220ml bottle, but beardmans shampoo (for example) is 230ml at £17, and it's too heavy on the berry smell).
I got my Fuzzyards from Harrods (won in a dog competition), but the only UK supplier now for Fuzzyard is PetLondon.
Despite using the dog shampoo, I can happily report it has no side effects, and I don't go up to peoples crotches to have a good sniff.
