Axel Nut Size (apologies for the lame topic)

Post by Stick'O'Sticks »

Hi Guys,

I apologise for the lame topic..... :? :? Just looking to adjust the chain on the 'Storm for the first time and, not having any sockets above a 22mm, just wanted to confirm the size before heading out and making a purchase. Can anyone tell me? Looks like a 30mm??

And at least it's a Bank Holiday tomorrow.

Cheers.

Thanks Wicky / MacV2.

I did use the forum search facility but couldn't find a result (I was figuring this had been asked a couple of hundred or so times before).

Thanks again!

Why ask when all you have to do is stick a socket or spanner on it ?

Personally, I'd have gone to the toy shop...bought a plaster of Paris mould kit, carefully taken a mould of the said nut, and then put some resin into the mould to re-create the nut.

THEN, I'd take the moulded resin nut to Halfords, and ask if I can try out their various sockets to see which one fitted. Result? Buying correct socket and taking back home to use on the actual nut.

Ok, some of you may have just taken the actual nut to Halfords.....
If it ain't broken...f*ck about with it until it is.

Saying that, take the whole bike to HALFRAUDS and ask them for a socket to fit. :D

Well, apart from Auntie Mac. He noticed I was absent without a note from me mum.

Two brains, the normal one (although thats debatable...) & one in the beard.
The beard is a seperate entity has it's own eco system & everything...Well when I say eco system what I really mean is bits of food, soup, crumbs & the odd small rodent...possibly...maybe...allegedly.

No, definitely more than small rodents living in that beard. I'm sure it even had clouds around it. :D

Hmmmm. Behind the flies and bits of dead wasp I've collected along the way whilst riding, I shall have a rummage around to see if Carl is in there too.

I combed it last week, and half of a hoof fell out. It had "Property of Shergar" etched on it. Time for a trim methinks. But with winter coming up, I can tuck it into me trousers and it'll keep me nuts warm.

Question for ya...Is there a specific beard shampoo on the market or is normal head hair shampoo ok to use ?
