i should have a go at that myself, it looks tricky tho, good job lloydie, i've already taken away the plastic bar that runs accross the lid of the airbox and cut away the two little mounting points that the bar screwed too. and like yourself i've smoothed them over with araldite. if i can get hold of a spare snorkel i'll have a go at it.

don't you just love it when your out for a ride and you pull away from the lights and the front wheel just pops up, nice and controlled like......
sorry officer

Lloydie what have you done to your bike (tunining wise) to be able to do the snorkel mod?

I just have a pair of blue flames on and standard filter.

Dropping a tooth on the front sprocket helps :-) .
I just need to get the lower part of the air box finished now :-)

Looking good Lloydie, it will be interesting to see how your next dyno compares. Did you adjust your carb settings to compensate or is that how you last had it? and that's with the Dynojets isnt it.

Marty put some cable tyres round your fuel lines before you blow yourself up. You have'nt got the rubber splashback protector there either to stop fuel dropping on the hot link pipe. :eek2

Yep dyno jets .
I've not messed with the carbs when I fitted the new lid as it feels good .
When in at the dyno I will do a run with standard airbox
And one with the new lid and then one with the full modified air box .
Fid the one that works best and stick with it :-)

Good man your doing it all the right way to get true dyno results for the mods. You don't want to fettle with the carbs from the last one as you know it will alter it.

Yes. but one of the problems with this test regimen is that the bike will run best with the setup that suits the jetting best.

What you can#t tell is that (for instance) the modified airbox would produce another 5 BHP if only the jetting were corrected, but just sticking the box on with the jetting set up for the standard one would lose you 2bhp, and make it look as though it was a step backward.

Ideally you need to get the jetting set up for each one, but that will add a fair bit to your dyno bill.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

It will be done on the dyno day do costs will be low :-) .
It will be set up for the modded box buy the end of the dyno day .
I have wrote down all the carb setting for standard box so I can return it back to that if I mess it up .
5bhp really mmmnrrrr that would take mine to 113bhp that's 25bhp more than that slow blue one :-)

5 BHP
That's impressive just from a modified airbox. I think this will have to go on my list of mods to do. I like it. :biggrin

So Tony, with your modified engine and the airbox etc you must be getting close to the borderline of having to update your frame/swingarm mounts. :eek2
