Right had a good day in the garage

First thing the 3 inch rise woodcraft clipons

These were quite easy ti fit and i will do a write up on these but if anyone decides to get these you would be better of getting the two inch ones on a cbr900rr forks as i had to drop the clipons down one inch exactly to get everything right this gives me full lock on either side with out hitting anything and still comfy

once I had these fitted i thought id try it out now from my little two mile trip i found the front end shaking back and forth when the brakes are on its not right

I can only imagine there is something up with the brakes side or the set up on the forks i have done is coursing this but i will investigate tomorow unless any one has come across this problem before

I did think about warped discs but these are 3 months old i was thinking that the discs are these fancy wavy ones with the conversion on the forks would the discs at 295mm would be 2.5 mm smaller each side 5mm over all as the pro lites i have are 300mm just clutching at straws lol

Checked your tyre pressures?

They will have dropped a little while the bike's been off the road.

Woodcraft are very good, shame about the import duty, but hey. I ordered a spare clip-on when I bought mine, just in case, but carbon tubes are quite cheap.
I only wish I'd drilled the clip-on tube for the light switch located pin instead of filing it flush, as I now have to readjust the switch cluster on the left-hand one once a week or so, usually after an urgent stab at the high/low beam button.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Tyre pressures were all checked before going out for my run

You could try fitting a small piece of cut rubber cluster ,y fried done the same thing on a zxr750 which i cut and fitted seem to of done the trick either that or a new cluster

I will try the fork set up and double check this and try again if that fails i will chuck the front wheel on from my other vtr see if theres any difference

This morning i went out early to have a play

Brakes i have rechecked discs are fine brakes are all okay swapped these over to see if they were like this on the other bike to double check anything

Reset the fork to standard setting as per the 900 set up 4 out .5 on the damping and between 1.5 2.5 on the bottom

Rechecked the forks alignment and head bearings which all seem good with no issues

Just need to go out and check but dont want to annoy the neighbours so il leave it an hour :D and see what happens

Well all seems good now not 100 percent the forks are set up correct but it seems to work all okay near enough now

settings i used were fourth line 1 1/4 turn and 1/2 on the bottom

Now all we need is Lloydie's and Mik's front ends to mysteriously sort themselves out.

So it's something to do with the fork internals then. Bushes maybe

I had the forks apart again the bushes had no wear the ptfe coating was as good as new though you can hear the springs rubbing slightly now and then pinging against the side i have ohlins springs in like i said if you set it up to cbr900 98 they done like it if i set them up as per above all seems fine i don't really understand that because it does not make any sence

Though the lower triple is from a 93 bike but i cant see it making a massive differnce as there interchangable so to speak.

The off set is the same from 92-97 on the yokes .

Are you sure you fork spacer and spring is the same length as standard ?
As if it's too long the forks won't be in the travel zone .

From matching the other two sets of forks up as a guide eveything is the same though the springs are a little longer but the same as the ones i took out as the forks are now the 98 model there is a slight difference between the 93 forks and the 98 forks

Yep the 98 has compression dampening ! Have you checked the caliper to disc clearance ?
