But what the hell is going on with the spouts on those cans?

They're pointing inwards and upwards!

WTF!??

How is that even possible considering the cans are already lined up and sitting on the oval?

With no can hangers, he can't rotate them. They got to look weird from the rear view.

And as for the paintwork - was he going for Tiger tank snow camo?

At what point did he keep spraying with whatever half-empty cans were left on his the shelf, and THEN stop.....saying: "that's enough"?

With a good re-spray, graphics, fork painting, foot-pegs and seat cowl, the buyer would need to be looking to spend another 500 quid on the bike. Which would be stupid, cos for just over that price, one could buy an already half decent, original bike.
needs rivets drilled out, ends turned round and then riveted again

as it states in the advert, the cans are from a ducati, hence the end caps being angled wrongly for a storm, that's probably a sign that the bikes owner wasn't bothered, so what else is wrong. my guess would be plenty.

You mean there was writing below the photos to explain the cans?

Never bothered with that. Honestly never got that far. Just clicked the picture, had a look at the bike, and didn't need to go any further! :?

To be a bit fair to it, it has had a bit of time spent on things before the bizarre colour scheme was applied by the local blind mans Labrador. (not a bad job for a pooch paintjob I suppose)

Someone had it looking nice at one point. It's got a polished swing arm, upgraded gold rear shock with reservoir, The wheels look like they'd polish up nice, and would look good on a red storm after bulling up with Autosol. Looking closely at the inside top fairing, the inside unpainted part at the top by the screen looks deep blue....and it has blue fork adjusters on the yokes, suggesting again it was once maybe blue.

Hmmm. I have the original cans for mine in the loft, all wrapped up. And I wouldn't be arsed about the graphics, but could do a half decent job with rattle cans.

Y'know....I actually gave it some thought for a minute. The dreaming side kicked in. Then the reality took over. Telling myself to behave. Wise up. I don't need another one.

But...if it doesn't sell, and those wheels come up for sale....I...may....just.......

I know this repsol bike was mentioned before, but some ones having a laugh, I reckon it's a case of a friend or two running up the bids, hoping some sucker buys it, because I can't believe a sane person would pay 3k for it...... :eek2 :eek2 :eek2

Yup, I reckon yer right. Time will tell. It will run the course, and be classed as sold...then re-listed a week later cos "the buyer failed to make payment", or "the bike is no longer for sale, as it "developed a problem". Blah, blah.

But, there is always someone out there who will pay stupid money for a bike, just because there isn't another like it at the moment, beer goggles, or maybe a young kid who's just passed his test, and wants it no matter what as it's the best thing since sliced bread, and he'll be as happy as a dog with 2 d1cks thumping down the streets impressing his mates.

Time will tell. And I have it marked for when it turns up re-listed.

That all said, you wait until MINE gets advertised. I'm starting at 5 grand.

worth keeping an eye on these cans, the linkpipes won't be of any use, but seen as it's a cash on collection, I reckon they'll be cheap.

Why would someone want to have a high performance bike, such as the VTR, with a decent, smooth, hydraulic operated clutch with decent adjustment on the bar lever...

...and then want to swap it over to an old fashioned cable and "knurled adjustment" method and a casing that doesn't line up with the holes (having to leave a bolt out)? Cables stretch in time, and have been known to snap. Nipples have been known to break off too. (depending if the clothes pegs are too tight on yer chest).

So, for me, and the £46 quid total asking price, it can stay for sale. (Sorry Mark, if yer on here and it's yours). But I could buy a new clutch/sprocket cover gasket, new clutch fluid, a new tube of Autosol to polish the lever and still have change left for a few quid into the petrol tank.

This is one modification that I can't get my head around as to why anyone would do this? Answers on the back of a 10 pound note and sent to my address please...
