Just to add to the confusion, Titanium bar :biggrin

Actually I like the idea of making Carbon hangers but I think for it to be sturdy enough those kits are not the best unless you could get vacuum pressure treated or something.

Gave her the couple hundred mile check over and re-tightened a few things......

No it's time to take her out to the road that tried to kill me when the shock broke...... :eek2

Wish me luck

nice tape work Lloydie.

in my opinion they will look better if the upper mount goes back to the can strap as well as the lower one, that is the more classic shape.

and if its all steel some nice brazing might work better if you are doing it your self.......an amature braze is stronger than an amature weld

I have cut the top tubes but I'm undecided which one u like more !

I can weld better than braze but I'll only be doing the tacking and my mate will be doing the welding as I haven't do it in years and I want good penetration !

Dropped the forks 4mm in the triples; bike felt a bit loose when getting up to (very) high speed (which I very seldom do, but alas, I want it to be very planted when I do). Further to comments from Roger about how the overly long rear shock on the early racing VTRs caused this very condition, I trimmed the shock shim from 5.3 to 4.1 mm, which helped. However, I decided to drop the forks a bit (for a similar effect) this time around in the hope of getting everything perfect.

As an aside, this should help me to gain a bit of ground clearance (not that I really need it), as well as raise the CG slightly for a quicker turn-in...... Depending on how things work out, I may drop them some more (have 6mm left to go), then shim up the rear again to keep the geometry the same while raising the cg some more...... some day I will get there.... perfection :)

P.S. am waiting for my Zcoo front pads to arrive.... quite looking forward to trying those babies :)
