soooooo....
the trellis frame i got is one of these...

will be cutting off the swingarm pivot to emphasise the swing arm on the engine of the storm, lop off the subframe, new engine mounts, and bobs your uncle.
will transfer the R1 radial front end over.

just got this off e bay for 99p, going for a more 'custom' look at the back, rather than the usual R1/MV/ducati seat unit.

told you my projects snowball!!!!!
am i still allowed to post if i've just got the engine left?? lol

caliper mounts on the forks are milled down 6mm to get the calipers to seat properly on the discs, temp. front wheel fitted, as i've got to reccess my discs into the wheel 3mm each side to get the discs to line up with the calipers. my wheel is over at my mates on his big lathe.

complete sub-frame/seat unit is on ebay, so that will come off the bike this week.

who was it who wanted a yellow tank?? i need the filler cap and fuel gauge sender, but not the pump, so that can go.

i got the fat bobs off a mate, they're getting hard to find now, if you don't want new. just keep looking on the bay, they come up now and again.

seat unit and subframe off, tank, airbox and std carbs off.
it's not looking good for the raptor frame.... it's looking like it might be easier to start from scratch. neither the 'storm tank or the vfr800 one are anywhere near fitting. easier to make a frame than a tank.

on the plus side, the 'custom fender' i got off e-bay for 99p turns out to be a zodiac one that costs £359 new!
luckily it's too big for the bike, so will be going back on the bay... for more than 99p....

rear sprocket needs to move over a bit. the sums say 10mm, but it looks a bit less than that. it's on my 'to do' list! :D
