ive got it out the carb now but obviously i now cnt tighten the choke into carbs as can see in next pic the plastic has snapped away from over tightening

If you quick maye, bargain choke cable here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-VTR1000 ... 5d316f2fbc otherwise it's 2nd hand carbs. Double check with seller if it has the black threaded nuts on end.

Bummer about the choke cable. Common mistake people make that one. You need to be very careful and not overtighten those nuts and the thread is very fine. And to make it worse they didn't need to be disconnected as the choke can be undone at the bracket by the knob on the frame, then cables lifted out with the carbs.
If cash is tight you may be able to make a bodge repair to the broken bit with a bit of glue and then gentley thread it back into the carb. It would also be a good idea to put a bit of silicone around the outside of it to hold it all in place. Not ideal though. Better to get new cables.

The choke cable on the left should run over the top of the pipe coming out the top of the coolant bottle. Otherwise it makes it tricky when removing or replacing carbs, as like I said the whole choke can be removed still attached. What's the hose coming from the left by the choke cable there, going over the bar?

Now see the hose to the right of the coolant bottle by the cct blank on the engine case. On yours it is leading down to the thermostat housing which looks wrong to me. Disconnect that from the thermo housing and that connects into the nubbin on the front carb. Now you should have another hose the same diameter that goes into the thermo housing there, and that connects to the nubbin on the rear carb.

That's the correct way to put it back together. Lloydie is right you could get rid of them all together and bypass the carbs which is what it looks like has been done. You don't necessarily need the coolant hoses or carb heater hoses as they are sometimes called, which is what their job is. Basically IIRC what they do is, in cold condition's below zero, they pump warm water into the carbs which helps aid the cold starting of the bike and helps the fuel burn by pre warming it up before it goes in to the intake/cylinders. A bit like a de-icer.
Hopefully that clears things up and all make sense to you now. I think it's the missing hose from the thermostat housing that was confusing things.

This is the carb heater pipe and it looks like you have bypassed the carbs already

Argh that's good then, except it should be running under that bar and the other hose that runs parallel with the coolant bottle. It may help with the flow of coolant if it's on the bottom.

thanx well i shall re rougt that while its all open anyway .. btw this bazza is that user seb ?? was him i was speaking to and lost contact to . if u can get contact with any1 with manual ccts cud u please ask them to contact me please .. as for the lock key i was just told was easier to open my current ones n lock them so that i can then have the settings to transfer to the manuals

If your fitting manuals you don't need to worry about the locking key. That's is only needed if replacing with the same shitty standard Honda autos.
