Iam am a bit late but still want to make the butt end a single seat with nothing behind it. Moving house and work commitments have slowed me down a bit. I like it being different and will get it done this year. As you have said once you sort the suspension there great bikes. mine has all the good mode done so seats just a thing i want to do to make it different. Looking forward to many runs out and meat ups in 2015

That means a lot Chris, thank you for the kind words.
Although each modification has improved the bike leaps and bounds, It's still not the fastest or best handling bike I've owned, but it is by far the most fun, rewarding and addictive bike I've yet discovered.
Imo, Storm ownership is further enhanced by this forum and the members.
Long live the VTR & vtr1000.org!

Figured I'd update this thread, as the bike has just undergone another round of renovation!
I bought my bike back a couple of years ago, after Grumpyfrog looked after it for a wee while
Since the last post here I have done the following bits:
Clutch plates
Brake pads
All fluids
Filters
Spark plugs
Stick coils
Shock rebuild by Penske
Fork service Inc seals/bushes
Lithium battery
Tyres
Wheel bearings
Brembo front brake reservoir
Gilles GP light clip-on handlebars
New mirrors
New grips
Computer fan on reg/rec
Chain/sprockets
Rear brake disc
HRC rear brake reservoir kit
I'm now in the final stages of making my own rear end for the bike, as the only thing I don't like about the stock Storm is the bland shapeless rear fairing and the low seat height.
I don't really like it when people swap tail units between manufacturers e.g a Ducati 916 seat unit on a GSXR for example. So I went with a Honda RS250 seat unit - to keep it all Honda
I have tried to keep the practicality of the stock seat unit, so have made a removable seat pad with access to fuses and tool kit etc underneath.
My goal is to end up with a taller seating position and a better looking rear end, with potentially a small weight saving.
Once I get some pics, I'll post up my progress with it so far.
Nice to be tinkering with the old girl again
