Finally bit the bullet and booked......

Post by Ernie Cooley »

Well, I have finally done it!

Booked for 2 days at Catalunya and 2 days at Almeria with a few mates, will deffo be in the novice group and now really looking forward to it.

The missus is a bit worried about me having an accident after my best mate died on track a couple of years ago, so I have had to double check our insurances just to put her mind at rest.

Any suggestions for the days themselves, has anyone ever had any issues regarind insurance etc while on a track day.

Advice welcome

TIA

Good point you’ve raised there

Some insurance polices exclude dangers sports i.e. doing a track day racing flying a light aircraft and so on :?

Some life polices include motorcycling as a dangers sport full stop so worth checking on that to :o
Pretty certain that you can get exemptions for the day at extra cost if yours is one that excludes it

Failing that just make sure your m8’s though your broken body on the road outside the track and get them to say you fell off there

Update on insurance:

Policy holder says I am covered for track days and general motorcycling worldwide, they also said If I was not participating in racing when the policy started, then if I start now, it will still be valid cover (might be useful for some of you thinking of racing). Policy is with Norwich Union.

Waiting on quotes for loss of earnings cover, they have already advised I can take this out a day before I go and cancel it when I get back so I don't get stung for the full premium.

Also been goven the following link which may be useful for others:
