Withdrawal symptoms

Post by Fireman on a Storm »

Well it's been 7 months since the storm was sold to buy my vw transporter window van. :?
The van is great. :D I can get all my tools in and there's seating for 5. Weekend away with the wife kids and mountain bikes. 41 mpg out of a 2.5 diesel. I only deamed about that milage from the storm 8O

BUT I realy miss having the bike in the garage knowing it's there to play with when I want. The last year of ownership I only used it for fun. I'd stopped bike instructing and wasn't comuting on it.

I WANT ANOTHER ONE

Can't afford one and that lottery win does not seem to be comming my way

I look in here at least every other day, but feel a bit left out when you lot talk about great rides and how much fun you are having.

What can I do?? Does anyone feel generous and want to give me a storm?
I have not got bike insurance right now, so I can't even borrow a mates bike and go out for a quick fix.

Blimey mate, cold turkey can't be nice and you're really rubbing salt into your own wounds by torturing yourself on here 8O

Until the Camelot fairy smiles upon you, what about buying a basket case (damaged repairable)? Buy, beg, borrow or steal the bits you need as and when funds allow. As you're well aware, there's usually someone on here upgrading a slightly tired bit for a newer item, or ditching standard bits for bling.

Now would be an ideal time, giving you the Winter months to lavish it with love ready for a nice blat come Spring / early Summer (if we get one).

If that's not an option, what about that bike shop down the road with the dodgy sprinkler system and fire hazards all over the place  Is there room in the back o' the works 'van' for a slightly smoke damaged Storm?

now this i can TOTALLY understand! Being a poor ass student keeping my storm running was a never ending battle and many a time i questioned if it was indeed worth it.

Could you maybe get some cheapy couple of hundrad quid bike to have a laugh on? The sort of thing that if you drop you dont care about? Between my storm and GSXR i borrowed my friends CBR125 to just get to meetings and back. It was a right hoot and i was actually sad to see it go...

....just an idea to throw in the mix!

I think I'll have to sell one of the kids! I'm sure the wife won't mind.

I have been thinking about getting a old hack. Winter is probably the best time to buy!

Don't tell the wife though 8O
