Definately a ratted CBX1000 Pro-link. The red one is a CBX1000Z. The pro link should have a big top fairing fitted, they're a tourer. My old man had two show winning examples years a go which he restored back to mint, a red-zed and a pro-link. Although the z looks cooler, he reckoned the Pro Link was a better bike to ride (although they both tie themselves in knots when the pace picks up!)

Yep CBX alright.

My mate's brother Heath (RIP) was one of the FWE club (F**king Wide Engine) - he's on far left below.

I believe the FWE have now long since disbanded - but they used to hold a really good rally over Holmfirth / Huddersfield way.

His bikes had spreads in BSH amongst others

They used to cause a bit of a stir on 'The Island' especially if there were Germans camping nearby - wake up for a pee in the we small hours and decide it'd be a really good idea to start the bike and hit the rev limiter for a few seconds! with 6 into f**k all exhausts, made your ears bleed. Strange that they didn't all wake for a pee at the same time LOL - Funnily enough the Germans moved pitches quite often.

Another friend and outfit racer Conrad, has an absolutely mint CBX

A crackin pic, RSV, i've always liked them, very nearly bought one when i was 20.
It was the salesman(i knew him) that advised me against it, im sure he said a top end gasket set was around £130,(this was in 1984). 8O

They still look good today, even though the Kwak z1300 was bigger capacity, somehow the CBX 1000 engine looked bigger , and was much more "in yer face", poss because it was easy seen with no radiator covering it :!:

Pretty sure that photo was part of a spread in one of the mags, possbily BSH years ago.

Got me in mind to find more - I know me bro had cuttings and mags with his stuff in but they're long gone now unfortunately likewise Heath and me bro.

Found this though with another of his CBXs on it.

Some cracking mods .....

culminating in the now notorious pink turbo-charged monster that has now passed into legend in the Bradford area

Refers to one that was subject of a couple of articles and photo shoots.

iirc the headline of one of the articles and indeed either the tank or the side panel's sign writing said "Pinker than Porky Pigs privates"

That was a beast.

Perhaps your existing Rex policy gives you 3rd party cover on the Storm seeing as it's also registered in your name?

Maybe?

Huh?

Ok, I'll shut up
