Swindon Pulls Down Speed Camera's

Post by sirch345 »

Is this good news or bad :?: If they're being replaced with hand held perhaps that's not so good :!:

At least with hand helds there is more possibility of talking your way out of it or even operator error. :?

Also having a few more police roadside could held against drink drivers, no insurance etc Of which I'm all for!

But we'll see if it works or my licence gets loaded of points in no time

I have very little problem with fixed cameras in built up areas - I DO always do 30/40 or whatever in them. I get pissed off with people who speed past me, then brake like **** at the camera, then speed off again.

However, the fixed cameras that really annoy me are on the A roads, nowhere near a population or accident spot, which means that I will NOT be travelling at 60mph, nor do I or any other road user pose a danger to anyone else even at 80/90mph, depending on road conditions and traffic.

Speed does not kill. Bad driving/riding kills. What we are doing with this speed thing is dumbing down to the lowest denominator, rather than improving road skills.

Bit like the education system really.........

There's a fixed speed on Queens Drive (Swindon) it had been covered up for months, but now the cover has been taken off and it's back in use.
I drove past it Tuesday night, and no I didn't get flashed...lol.
Growing old is inevitable. Growing up is optional.
