. Click on the "Quick Mask Mode" toggle button.

Image

. Now select black from the swatches palette, then select the paint brush tool. Begin coloring in the paint area of the picture. Please note: When you are in Quick Mask Mode, the paint brush will paint a transparent red color. This tells you which area you have colored in with Quick Mask Mode.

When you are finished coloring in the Quick Mask, then click the "Edit In Standard Mode" button to exit "Quick Mask Mode".

Image

. You should now see a selection around the painted area of the picture; however, this selection is really a selection of everything, except the paint. What you want is for the paint area to be selected instead. In order to do this, you need to goto Select > Inverse from the main menu. This will make it so that the paint of the picture is now selected.

. Now goto Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation from the main menu.

. When the Hue/Saturation pop-up box appears, adjust the "Hue" slider. Adjusting the "Hue" slider will change the color of the car. Just keep sliding the slider until you find the color you want.

. you can also apply other adjustment effects to get different colours, photo filter is a nice one..

Nice work.

Personally, I find it easier to just draw round it with the selector tool than masking, but I use a tablet.

thats ok for large areas of stuff, but i found this a god send when you have lots of fiddly things to change the same colour of...

but as its photoshop you get shown one way and there are 100 different ways to do it...

I use a Serif porgram and you can do similar changes. Funnily enough, I thought about having the Storm resprayed in a deep metallic purple like my old 1969 Triumph Daytona, if I eventually do the 'fighetr mods.

the correct answer should have been

they are black along with a few other items this is a safety feature due to the red bike been so fast. they added bits of black to slow it down a bit.
