It's Finished

Post by tattie »

Well,
After 2 years of blood sweat and a few tears, the holiday let (annex) is finished
The lady from the letting company was here on Sat taking all the details and she is calling back tomorrow to do the Pictures. She has recommended that we get one of the "virtual tour" things done as well (at a later date). So when she gets it on to the site I will post a link to see what you all think.
2 years of damn near every night and weekend spent working on it, I was beginning to think that it would never be finished (so was the wife  ).
I am at a loose end at night now, mind you if it is half decent this weekend I might take the bike out for a spin :)

Cheers

Tattie,
not sure what 'site you're referin too, but , in the past i've used http://www.stilwell.co.uk , it was a few years ago, but im sure we contacted and paid the owners direct :!:

I think the owner only pays a fee for the property to be included in the brochure/web , so there are no commision fees payable :!:

Might be worth checkin out if you havn't already :!:

Stevie,
We looked at quite a few including Stilwells, but thought that for the first year we would go with an agency, http://www.cottages-scotland.com They take a commission but handle all the bookings, enquiries, etc. Plus we can reserve weeks for ourselves.
But when things are up and running and if I feel that it needs a bit more advertising I was thinking of putting it on http://www.holiday-rentals.com. I think this is a good site.
One half of me is hoping for lets as soon as possible but the other half would like to get Christmas in the "New" place. :D

Cheers

Well,
We are on the "tinternet" at last, :D :D I thought it was never going to happen, 19 days to get the pictures on 8O.
So here is the link http://www.scottish-country-cottages.co.uk
When the main screen comes up, go to search by property reference and put the property code SLLY in, and it should appear. It is called Osprey cottage  , we wanted to call it "never again" but the lady from the agents was not having it.

Stormingjoe,
with regards to dogs, the woman from the agents said that we would get another 4-6 weeks rental if we accepted our four legged friends, but as we have 2 ourselves we thought it would be better to try the first year without. Saying that, I have 2 kennels at the bottom of my garden that our dogs go in when we are off for more than 1/2 a day. ( seperate beds and sitting areas with a 16' x 4' run each.) mind you the smaller the dog the more important human company is to them, so kennels do not suit some
The kennels ok but are in line for a renovation some time in the spring.

Cheers
