Merry Bloody Christmas!

Post by RedStormV »

No really, have a good un one and all!

Got a text from a mates wife earlier this evening telling me he'd come off his Blackbird today! 8O

Thankfully he's still with us, but a very close thing by all accounts! :?

Saw cars ahead breaking, braked himself, either grabbed too much, or greasy surface, or the dreaded diesel! He and bike went sliding down dual carriageway.

Don't know condition of bike, but it didn't hit any other vehicles thankfully.

Don't think he was as fortunate, went between two cars, dunno if they were stationary or not.

Dislocated right shoulder, broken left shoulder! Battered, grazed and bruised!

Road closed for nearly 3 hours!

Popular guy as it's one of the main routes into Leeds, and right outside Owlcotes shopping centre!

Not sure if he'll be out today or not, depends if they're operating on broken shoulder. He was sedated for the relocation of his right when I spoke to his wife earlier.

Looks like he'll be spoon fed for a while as he's left handed too!

Can't wait to go see him and show some sympathy

What a bummer for Christmas eh?

So while we're tucking into our roast dinner, Christmas pud and mince pies, later today, spare a thought for those less fortunate than ourselves, who can't even toilet themselves this Christmas!

A wooden backscratcher should help :P Main thing is will be ok sucks especially at this time of year hey pull his pi$$er a bit too say that he cost the shops 4 million pounds in lost revenue due to road closure, then as Neg would say "LEG IT" hehe only joking. He will be back up and kicking soon, think of it now as waiter service for him which reminds me as well as the back scratcher get him a bell. :P  :D

Thanks for the good wishes folks, I have passed them on.

Looks like both shoulders are fractured, but they've only strapped the one up that was also dislocated. Apparently a dislocation is worse than a break? Who knew?
They cant strap 'em both up in case he falls (bit late!).

Anyhoo, apparently as long as he keeps his elbows in close to his body, he can feed himself, just needs his food cutting up

Toileting is another matter - good job his wife is a nurse!

Don't know condition of bike as it's in storage but thinks it's all one side damage!

On the upside - he must have rolled perfectly ish, as would appear the initial tumble and consequent multiple rolls did the shoulder damage, but his helmet is totally unscathed!

Was he wearing a box as well?

Only kidding, hope his recovery is as swift and painless as it can be.

Ohhh, not nice any time that. Hope he makes a good recovery.

Wife's a nurse?
No sympathy from her then knowing most nurses attitudes (or maybe it was just my ex girlfriend's attitude; yes, a genuine nurse. Not the Ann Summers type!!!).
