RIP Meg...

Post by Jbrebel »

Lost the dog yesterday :(

Sadly she'd developed a tumour, diagnosed only 3 weeks ago. She got much worse Tuesday night and we had to have her put down. 14 years-I can still remeber the day we got her. Here's a piccy of her in happier days...bit of "green eye" going off with the flash.

Mate, feel very sorry for you. I am dreading the death of mine one is 10 yrs one is 9 yrs. You grow very close over time.

hi john, so sorry to hear the horrible news of your meg, was she a JRT, she looks like a russell in your piccy, i have 2 of the little devils, lol, and as a dog lover i know how sad it can be, some people say oh its only a dog, but to us mutt lovers she was a huge member of the family, and as has been said you made the most difficult decision we all are going to make at some stage in our dogs life, so be brave, and dont be afraid to cry over her and always know that what you did was the ultimate and final act of love for her, and as we dog lovers say, she is at the rainbow bridge all healthy and fit, and she will wait patiently till her master comes to collect her once more, take care john and my 2 russells say thanks for looking after one of their family

I feel your pain JB, as we had the same thing happen with our dear dog around last Christmas. He was 12yrs old and fit as a fiddle up until the 16th Dec 08. To cut a short story even shorter, he had a tumour on his liver and on Dec 31 we had the vet out to put him to rest as he could no longer eat.

You did the kindest thing by not letting your dear Meg suffer anymore than she needed, you put her first and your feelings second, which any genuine pet owner IMHO should always do, no matter how hard it is, good man :!:

My condolences,

Chris.
