straight over the roundabout!

Post by mwross1964 »

Was out today having a great time, thinking this bike does what you want it too.Was flinging it around the corners no probs, beautiful.
Then came up to a roundabout I do every working day,and suddenly I thought , wombles i'm going a bit fast here and I just could not lean over !!...straight over the roundabout via,up the centre kerbs, over the grass, down off the centre kerbs ,over the road,up another kerb, came to a stop just right in between a lamp post and road sign..wombles me.Still upright.phew...

Any idea's what to check for, I am most concerned about ramming up the kerbs... you know wheel buckled or fork buckled, how do I check, it seemed ok the rest of the journey but you know when you think you have done some damage you start to THINK its there.
I know what a prick...
:problem:

wheels biggest concern id say , check front carefully if still in doubt remove and get it balanced , check rear also , but my guess is if ya didnt damage the front or burst yer fork seals then happy days ,

also double check leathers for stainage :D

I have heard that even if the wheel survives this sort of very hard thump and looks straight etc, that the front tyre in particular can suffer some serious damage that unfortunately doesn't show. Only way to be sure is I guess a new black thing!
Glad you made it OK and that like my sign off says, you still weren't outpacing your guardian angel!!!

Well done on staying shiny side up! Side walls take a right pounding so look for damage. I would say that if all feels good(no vibration or steering click and no oil around the fork seals) you should be ok. :D

i could be wrong here but cant wheel specialists xray the wheel or do summat to see if there is any structural damage?

im sure when i went over a kerb in a car park on my tzr 125 due to Richard about and flat spotted the rims..
my old man took the rim to be straightened and even though they sorted it they said there were hair line fractures that were not visible..

Try Hagon.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
