North/South devide.

Just got me thinking a bit that’s all-do you feel a strong North/South divide still exists? What are your opinions? Does the subject actually stir you or couldn't you give a rats ass?!?

TBH-I don't care for either of the 2 in the vid-Prescott is a fat, opinionated, croquet playing tw@t and Brian Sewell has such a over inflated sense of self importance it begs belief...

Yes definately a divide, due to my job I have lived in Aylesbury, Marlborough, Cardiff, Swindon, Lincoln, Sleaford and Stamford but am actually from Leeds (Otley). I have also worked all over England Scotland and Wales. I believe that if you happen to have strong accent you are disadvantaged from the start. People prejudge you and the media have a massive input as to whether you are in vogue or not (depending on the lastest celebs). House values/wages and standard of schools can all be affected. Me personally couldnt give a rats ass
If I can get a nice house on the edge of some good biking roads and no stinking traffic I am happy.
Cornwall, Cotswolds, Yorkshire Dales/Moors are some of my favorites. Scotland/Wales are beautiful but some areas are anti English in a big way (fair one we are tw*ts after all)
The Smoke can stay exactly where it is.........overated...totally.

Just wondering ,cos theres quite a few English folks in the village here ,and a few in my work ,but some places,like the Isle of Arran are full of English people .
Mind you ...we've all heard the stories of Londoners etc ,sellin their 2 bedroom semis,and comin up here and buyin a castle for the same money ,lol

What annoys me, is my family decide to holiday(and spend our hard earned)in England ,....and twice this has happened, you go to pay with a Scottish £20 note or whatever,they look at it as if it's from fookn Uzbekistan or somewhere ,ffs were just up the road Once in a large supermarket in Bicester,where the teller actually tannoyed for a supervisor,and were standin in the queue feelin like criminals and another time when in Cornwall ,....there ya go ,named and shamed

Yep......I have great friends (Scottish) who used to argue that it wasnt like that until we started going up on a regular basis for 4 week trips (Dundee, Inverness, Elgin, mainly). Guaranteed the English contingent would get grief at some point. Best of all it was my Scottish mates who used to and kick off at the trouble makers They felt embarrassed I think . The forces are full of Jocks, Micks, Taffs and all variants of English scum.. even Geordies I take each person for what they are, if they are twats they are twats regardless of birth place
