However, Sheriff John Horsburgh said there was no alternative to a jail term.

He said: "The speed at which you were travelling means a custodial sentence is the only option I have."

what he forgot to add was if he had been doin that speed in a car he would have prob only got a ban and fine! :mad2

what he forgot to add was if he had been a copper then he could have claimed he was on a training run and got off scot-free :mad2

Fixed that for you....no charge.

So, the crime hurt no-one. No-one was injured or sufferred any loss of life, liberty or property. The heinous villain in question now will (probably) lose any job the has, will have a criminal record on his file, will have extreme difficulty in getting any form of insurance in the future (criminal record, see), no chance of getting any form of work where CRBs are required, no licence for 5 years, further limiting any chance of work. Thats properly wombles up his life.

Am glad to see that in this great nation of ours that the punishment fits the crime (not)

Yeah your right, have they forgot that copper who was doing 155mph because he was "testing" his car?.

Im really getting pissed off about how bikers are targeted, yeah we all know there are some cocks who spoil it for everyone, it just seems of late the police want to do nothing but focus there time and resources on spoiling our fun.

There is a real nice road which is used by bikers, near me. The York to Driffield road. Over the summer, the police decided to start a "covert " campaign which involved pulling over bikers. They had undercover cars and undercover bikes. We all know there are some knobs who deserve to be pulled, but the majority of us just wanna be able to ride without getting pulled over so the old bill can check our bikes and docs. I use this road everyday for work and It got to a point where i couldn't be asked getting pulled so i took the car.

The police are losing all respect from the public and is about time they had a shake up and put things back into perspective.

What about the 17 year old prick in his chavtastic car, no tax, insurance or MOT.

Sorry guys and gals but i get really wound up, infact im so pissed off this message proberly don't even make sense. I do feel better though!!

Sharon Shoesmith head of Haringey Social Services, which oversaw the appalling case of "Baby P" only lost her job for incompetency that resulted in at least one death.

The lodger has now had his sentence reduced to 6 years, but will probably be out in 2 1/2, as he only stood by whilst the baby was tortured to death.

The biker caused no death or injury but is sent to prison with rapists and muggers and gets a 5 year ban, meaning he will find it very difficult to get another job.

FFS - what sort of logic is being applied here!

That's quick considering his speedo was probably reading 175+...

I do feel sorry for him, we've all broken the limit to some degree, could have been anyone of us (maybe not at that speed though - ban all IL4 1000cc bikes!)

You get 5 years for carrying a gun.... what's worse?
No bike (yet).

That road is just a stones throw from my work place, and believe me its a peach of a road for opening up,and very very tempting, hence speed traps etc are very much a part of it.but in saying that...........what an butt hole!!! why so fast man.

That's a silly question you know quite well what I mean.

Bikerpiker can't be an English judge they never lock anyone up.

Perhaps he was shagging the judges daughter

Okay, I know He's a biker but come on lads. 100 mph above the speed limit and he got caught.
Yes, many of us have done it, we all know the consequences, but use a bit of common and you get away with it and just prey some other poor sod gets caught instead of you, that way the statistics stay on your side :silent:
We're just getting the 'other poor Sods' story at the moment. Revel in the fact it's now safe for you to go out and beat the odds :P
