WHITE SP2 MARLBOROUGH ROAD CHISELDON

Post by Jaglifter »

Immaculate SP2 slowed down to check on me when I'd run out of fuel on my black kawasaki ZXR250A.
A guy on a red VRF had stopped to help.

All my fault. I've had two kwakers now and I couldn't understand the fuel tap on either of 'em. Running on reserve doesn't leave you much when you run out!

Nice thing about riding a 250 is that you get more than 120 miles to a tank!

Thanks Timbo. Problem is, the tap doesn't line up with the pointer and its not fitted correctly anyway!
I've got to change the cam chain at some point so I'll sus it all out then. Meanwhile I'll keep a close eye on the oddometer.

Very likely Timbo.
I'll be the one with a siezed red and white TZR250, a black ZXR250A with no fuel, a conked out Velocette, or in the ditch with a Triumph Daytona somewhere around!

One day I'll be able to afford a proper bike again :plainsmile

Hi JB

I have two: A 350 KSS MkII on the road and a 200cc Valiant, which is almost ready to run. I also have a long term project on the go to build a KTT MkVIII replica (although it will be more of a "look alike" than replica).

What have you got?

A 150 LE with hand shift :)

In bits, everything present. Frame, wheels, engine, everything :)

Cost me £120 about 7 years ago-just never had the chance to start restoring...

Jb
Sounds like a MkI. I think these are brilliant little machines. Problem is that (like my Valiant) they cost more to restore than they can be sold for. Although prices are climbing slowly - usually several on e-bay. Very well engineered. No wonder Veloce Ltd. went under!
I've only ridden the Valiant, but its very quiet and smooth - I guess a bit like riding an electric bike but with less power.

Yeah, I looked at prices on restored versions and they don't make much really.

It's just a project really (that has never got off the ground...) but it'd be fun to start doing bits on it at somepoint.

Maybe this year, who knows...

Seem to have too many other things happening all the time!
