Stealth tax on Fuel....

Post by cliveyandrews »

When VAT was temporarily reduced to 15%, the Chancellor added 2% duty to fuel to offset the reduction in tax collected from motorists. Now that VAT has been increased to 17.5% again this hidden tax has not been removed - hence recent rises in your fuel costs. Sign the petition at the link below to have this stealth tax removed!

You should've saved some in a jerry can like I did.

I've got some vintage 1985 I'm saving for a special occasion, too.
It's got lead in!

(Faster but heavier, probably).
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Fuel prices are absolutely disgraceful. I expect some ecomentalist wants us all to use public transport, but here's just one reason why I won't. My colleague and I are going on a course in Newcastle soon, travelling up on Sunday afternoon and back on a Wednesday evening, so hardly peak times. Cheapest rail fares from Norwich, return - £280!.

Instead we will go in my Jaaaaaag and pay £85 for petrol and get there warm, comfortable and clean!

Its one of the reasons I won't vote this year (for the first time ever). Fed up with being taken for a mug because I pay my way.

when i started riding on the roads 4 star was 60p a gallon, with free shots of 2 stroke oil lol.
10 number 6 was 48p.
3 stone o monkey nuts was 3 & 6 :D

shockin fuel prices. called in at chorley services for diesel and it was 122.3 a litre, nearly 15p more than supermarket price.
what happened to the near riots last time when fuel went up over a quid a litre???
as usual nobhead britain lies down and takes it.
consider it signed, as if it matters :/
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Fellow Jaaaaaag owner!

I have a 3.0 'S' Type, love it to bits, awesome performance, extremely comfy - but 25mpg (good for a Jaaaaaag I guess), but with a 300 mile commute every weekend, I will have to let the girl go :(

Paid £14k three years ago, now anticipate £3.5k in return :confused

I'm lucky 'cos I work from home and I kept my '98 Mondeo which I have had 10 years and 167,000 miles! I use that for short trips and the XJ8 is just for long trips so I doubt I do more than 5,000 miles a year in her, and I only paid £5,700 a couple of years ago (its a 2000), so the fuel costs don't really matter. Great feeling behind the wheel though :D
