WHAT IS IT THAT BRINGS US HERE?

Post by YETI »

What is it that brings us here together!
Here to bow down and pay tribute to this humble yet noble steed that is the VTR,
Its one thing to like something
but we all seem to like the same thing ( THE HONDA VTR )
SO IS THERE ONE THING THAT BINDS US ALL TOGETHER , SOMETHING ALMOST GENETIC AT PLAY HERE :eek2 ,
possibly some throw back to times long past ,
some common ancestor perhaps :?:
Back...-...back on the plains of africa ,before time as we know it began.
someone that connects us ,
someone whos influence has been passed down to us to make us all live our lives as honest law abiding citizens ,
someonewho has us all conduct ourselves in the presence of others as polite and curtious people,
someone who has us be charitable towards our fellow man/or woman,
or someone that helps us express our love, our love for all gods creatures however great or small,
someone who has made us all love THE HONDA VTR!
DUNNO :confused
just thought id ask see what ya think.

Dont know......I think we all like a bargain :biggrin A bike that does a brilliant job without attracting the Saxo/GSXR/Bandit clan (no offense I have owned a Bandit and love the K5 GSXR1000). A thinking mans steed, the SP is what I wanted from the Firestorm and now I have finally got an SP it is everything I expected. You only have to spend 10 mins on the GSXR/Fireblade sites to feel uncomfortable with 15% of the users. You post a question and within minutes you will have at least one wise ass giving you grief for not knowing the basics! This site although rife with sarcasm and wit is not nasty or chav ridden. The Storm can be played with and made to be a serious road weapon or just a great tourer. A lot of folks on here dont even own a Storm anymore but one ride out was all it took to forge friendships that have lasted. Long may it continue.

Probably your shoutin! :D

Imagine David Attenborough narrating:

And here we are on the plains of the cradle of civilization, the place where it all began. Some time ago when the 100th Monkey picked up a stone tool and cracked the nut, they all followed. Many took to four wheels and the masses busied themselves consuming all the resources at break neck speed. However a few took another path, that of two wheels, and here we see the Biker.

Easily spotted for its colourful foliage, they attract the attention of many. They often pay homage to the great Riders of the Day and a great many also offer sacrifice for no apparent reason at the foot of the ancient Brandopolis, a towering creature of immense subliminal prowess. Coming in all shapes and sizes, this species is less susceptible to taming and their curiously rebellious nature is not always apparent. But a social nature is the reason that they come together on the plain here today. It has been suggested that the reason they have chosen a two wheeled way of life is due to economic factors in the face of dwindling resources but this has been widely dismissed as it is clear that they are not adverse to placing gifts at the altar of freedom while sparing comfort for a more fulfilling experience.

Independent in nature, they travel far and wide in search of riches in gold and in search of titles of the fastest creature with the loudest shrilling scream, a trait common to the Inlinersaur. These can be heard and found with ease in great tribal groups on the plains as they flash and dance to the iPod fuelled mtmtmtmtmt at an astonishing 180 beats per minute, all sequenced in led light. This makes them easy to spot but occasionally these fleeting types are difficult to catch.

But one group in particular is of special interest to us - the Vtwins. These intelligent, social and amicable creatures travel far and wide not in the quest for gold but rather to become one with the great pathways that reach far a wide. In equally numerous varieties, from the large and heavy Hardly Dangerousosaur with their black hides adorned with patchwork clan worship symbols to the smaller live-forever workhorses known as the Enteevees, our particular group revere the underestimated and rewarding Firestorm, a unique animal in every respect. This small but formidable group ride on this thumping powerhouse of a block, they ride to the sound of many a deep drum beating on the ancestral plains, they dance to the rhythm and pay homage to the great creature - a primeval beast of a bike.

This group have sought and found respect among the Bikers as a people at ease with the blend of power and responsibility and while they could easily choose the way of the Inlinersaur, they have found something spiritual - two heartbeats and a perfect synergy of man and machine in harmony while retaining links to the past. What is remarkable is that this group displays remarkable resilience. They have corrected many of the genetic flaws found in the earlier species of the Storm and have adapted to realise its full potential.

From time to time one of the group will go in search of gold only to place it at the altar of the Storm. So unique is this trait that researchers have tried and failed to rationalize this behavior but evolutionary specialists have suspected that this is due to an ancient call of the pipes used to warn of impending danger as well as celebrate the Storm. It is suggested that VTwins are closely related to the past riders of ancient beasts with thumping gallops and bellowing trumpets that could once be heard from considerable distance, as depicted by this ancient neolithic cave painting found deep in the NGorogorogorogoro-phut-ngorogoro mountains.

In the south east of the land a great wizard performs ritualistic feats of wonder to the initiated using a wide range of tools. In the deep south west Sages offer guidance to the seated clansmen on the correction of well known flaws. The north is littered with knowledgeable die hard perennial wanderers and the eastern tribes offer characteristic humour. Superstition is not uncommon. Many in the group take great pride in the skins of their animals believing that their tones somehow make the beasts heart beat faster while others tell of a mystical Yeti wandering in the southern regions. Some barely tolerate the ear-piercing shrill of the prevalent Yamaraptors and the Ceebee Arosaurus whereas others court them. Some gather for the comforting words of the Sages and many seek new skins and insignia. Others gather to admire handcrafted hybrids and others offer words of wisdom. All packs have a couple of jokers too so in the round this group thrives harmoniously.

But a common reverence for the Storm is the defining characteristic among otherwise different types whose insignia ranges from large breasted birds to logos indicative of the thirst of their animal and their equally veracious appetite for beer. Varied and unique they are.

So as the heat of the day gives way to the night, the sun sets over the plains and we find the solitary beating hearts of the VTwins that grace the undulating land coming together to share knowledge and wisdom and pass on valuable expertise to the newly born, traits that will ensure the success of this species. They gather not unlike the great cats that bellow in unison sending the message of their presence far and wide. Interspersed are these gatherings around the fire where they consume copious amounts at the watering holes and smoke the ancient leafs while sharing tales of wonder and woe. The annual Opstormicus is a recent example of this behavior.

And yet today this thriving community lives in constant danger of depletion as they can fall to the great predators - the Lackogripatspeed, an ancestral cousin of the Greater Pushedtheenvelope Toofar. As the summer migrations become fewer and the fair weather of the species withdraw and store their thoroughbreds, the few warriors brave the seasons that bring threats such as the Shiny Deesilspiller - a flat ground lying creature that awaits the touch of a footprint before striking with lightening speed. The Slipperyleaf is another common predator and of course the more dangerous Fourwheeled species can make for a fatal encounter.

Yet in spite of the perils of nature and the pitfalls of misfortune, this resilient and advanced creature has secured its future as a species and the great migration will continue throughout the year.

And all for the love of a great machine.
