At last

Post by gumbie man »

Back in the month of May my lovely black 04 kawasaki z750 went to bike heaven curtesy of a white car door,(i do have a few bits for sale if anybody is intrested) Insurance money was sorted quite quickly
so sarted the dilemma as to which bike to purchase next. After weeks trawling the internet i came across a pristine R reg red Firestorm with only 9500 miles on the clock going for £1790. A quick phone call and then a trundle down to Guilford i became a owner of a firestorm.
Since that very 1st ride on it i was not sure if i had bought the right bike.It felt clumsy and slow, But today after a roundtrip of 135 miles everything about the firestorm fell into place and left me with a big grin on my face. :D :D :D

Started of in Wantage then onto the road to Hungerford, through Newbury, onto the road to Basingstoke then onto the A339. If anybody knows that road then they will know what fun it is,11 miles of bends, awesome road. Then onto the A34 back home.

welcome to the firestom world.

Takes a bit of getting use to the big twin, but it laways makes you smile.

there are simple mods that can make it a bit sharper if you still feel it is clumsy, putting a 3mm spacer under the rear shock top mount will give the bike fatser steering, and new stiffer fork springs can make them much better.

Lots of info on here so time to search and read will get you all you need to know, but if you need help to work out the best plan, just ask. Worst that happens is you get conflicting answers

Oh, and get some pictures posted

I think it was more me being clumsy not being use to a bike with so much engine braking, have now learnt to be much smoother with the throttle but thanks for the tips.

Will sort some photos out soon.

No, it isn't.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

yes it is. :Argue 1:
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
