Headlight

Post by SWAGGER »

My headlight has weird marks on the reflector .... the black internal bit at the front also has marrks on it. Looks like something has been rolling around inside ... looks real second hand. Question. Has anyone else got a similar marks? I'd like to get a second hand one off of ebay but am nervous that this might be an issue and that another second hand one will look equally naff. Should i buy a new one?

It'll be difficult to photograph but I'll give it a go. I think I'm asking the question as to whether Firestorm headlights corrode or generally degrade from the inside. If not, and I can't see why they would, I can buy a secondhand one without fear of getting a similarly f*cked up variant. This bike is new to me and I have no idea of it's history or there long term issues or faults except what I glean from here.

i get a lot of condensation in mine until it warms up - dunno if it got damaged when i crashed it.
maybe the marks are from condensate thats been left to stand?
got another one somewhere and thats unmarked with no condensation but i dont want to part with it lol, i got it with a middle fairing bit but they can fetch 100 on egay - have fun trying to find a reasonably priced one!
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I don't mind the cost ... I just don't want to buy a naff one with similar issues to mine. I knew that I'd need to replace mine when I bought the bike. It's not critical but I'd like to make it look good. I'll probably get a new one.

You could go to a breakers and have a look first before buying,

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Don't do that! Typical, these things are like buses ... they're turning up everywhere now I've bought one. Strangely that one didn't come up from my search.

Yeah, it's the mis- spelling.
Firestrom wouldn't be searchable.
