Post by KEEFRED »

After 3 R1's, 2 Fireblades, 1200 Bandit, 2 Cbr600's 4 Gsxr750's I am hoping this will be a good experience !

Got an 03 plate red one, should pick it up this week, yippie.

When you get used to the change in power delivery you'll love the thing. Watch out for the engine braking, it is much more powerful than an Inline 4 bike and the low end grunt will have you grinning like the rest if us.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.
History:....CZ125....RXS100.....Lifan LF125-14F.....Suzuki GSXR750

I bought it blind off ebay as it was cheap and I was the only bidder. By some strange strange thing it turned out the bloke selling it is a friend of someone at work and actually is one of our subcontractors, then even more strange it turned out he lives in the house an ex lived in 4 years ago !

I must say I am impressed by how light it feels, less impressed by a terrible rattle whch seems to be coming from the front pot but only on tickover and not on load or over run, the speedo seems to be marked in increments not visible to the human eye, at least not mine, but £1250 for an 03 plate with a few niggles seems ok to me.

Oh dear, sounds like cct failure on front cylinder maybe.

Look it up on here mate, common problem but not too hard to fix yourself. I wouldn't run it if it is thoughts you will be damaging the valves.

And 1250 for an 03?
Wow...what mileage? Has it been damaged?

I thought as much, though the bloke said he had been 135 on it recently !

It's done 52 k but has history, bit of a donkey but about right for the money I reckon, do me for the summer, if it was better nick I might be prepared to invest some time and money in it.

I can't do the cct myself, don't have the tools anymore, would have tackled it a few years ago. Are they differnt on the 2003 one from the ones on e bay that are linked on here somewhere ?

Is there anyone south london area who could fit them if I paid them, don't want to put it in a dealers.

Yes, I can assist with this, and I have some Bazza manual ones in stock at the moment.

I'll PM you my rates for the work.

But I would suggest I have a listen before you start to panic about cct failure, however a rattly CCT will not affect performance noticeably until it finally bends valves- it'll slow you down then, though!

Cheers, Tony
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Please pm me too. I've also just bought one, and would like peace of mind from manual ccts along with the opinion & advice of an experienced ear.
