Hello there

Post by darkember »

Good evening to all. Darkember here from South Wales

New to the forum & would like a little advice. At present I own a K1 B12 but am looking at moving over to a VTR. Reason for this my riding style, I tend to use alot of enging braking instead of relying on heavy braking. My B12 is pretty good since it is only 5 speed but I have heard the VTR is a whole different realm.

Advise I need is:

Are there any models or particular years I should avoid? (I have heard about the cam chain tensioner issues but thats an easy fix.)
Age verses high mileage?
Any particular noises/rattles I should be looking out for when I am viewing a potential bike?
Any other advise most welcome

Thanks Dark

get a post 2002 model if you can for the bigger tank.... apart from that no real difference between model apart from yellow and red one are lower and tend to be ridden by girls.
cct is an easy fix and imo MUST be done - preferably before they fail!
only other issue is the reg rec - a weak point on all hondas fitted with the unfinned type.

go get a few test rides & enjoy
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Welcome aboard darkember

My advice is as always, test ride a Firestorm before buying one :)
