Leathers rubbing your neck

Post by vtryorks »

I'm having horrible chaffing from the collar of my leathers on my neck. It hurts like hell and even a very smooth shave doesnt stop it (straight razor). I've tried everything. Does anyone else have this problem because at times it gets quite unbearable. Its like a sort of hardcore shaving rash.

OK OK, I could "man up" but surely theres some sort of neck lube or something :P

Am I the only one who has a relatively short neck and leathers with a collar that rubs?

Hey dont be making fun, mummy says I'm her special little flower

Seriously though, its actually bleeding right now, just from 3 hours on the bike, not exactly nice. Not honestly sure what to do. Decent quality leathers etc.

Surely someone else has this issue with new leathers?

Biggles style silk scarf alternatively go to Boots pharmacy and ask for leather lanolin lube for friction burns.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I had this when my leathers were new. They got softer and dont do it now. I used to use a balaclava type thing, without the bit over the top of your head and that came down my neck and sorted it.

Theres a sinister theme developing on this forum since I joined.

We got Mr Hedges "banging one out" at work, balaclavas and foreskin chaffing in this thread and numerous mentions of twats in another post.

Hmm.

Try wearing a dry suit for windsurfing instead; they come with sort of polo neck, which wouldn't chafe.
And you could piss yourself to keep warm......

haha.

Went to pharmacist today. She looked and said "ouch, nasty, go see your GP". I'm not making it up, honest...

Hopefully they will break in over time :(

I treated myself to a custom made one piece hideout leather suit. It's prime but it when new i didn't worry about it being tight around the neck.

Let's just say I'm happy I have two kids already.

Jesus, choose a side, crouch and grab a handful.

I wear one of these and never have a problem.
