Essential Mods/Mods - Making a List - Advice?

Post by dogfish66 »

Hey Guys,

After my days shakedown at Cadwell on the storm - see avatar pic - and reading the forum, i am making a list of essential mods for my bike - some of which i've done some i'm planning to do - anything i've missed let me know - the overall plan being that i want something sorted, without going silly cost wise, or time wise, coz of other ongoing bike/car/house/never ending list of projects.

Manual CCT's - fitted yesterday using forum notes - piece'o'piss - cheers guys
Rectifier - to be done, but ok at present
Exhaust - full system being made - 50mm inlet silencers coming from china
Front Forks - mmmmm - mod originals or go fireblade front end - far to soft as std - I'm 18 stone anyone know the correct replacement spring rate if i go std and what weight oil to go for?
Rear Shock - ok actually as i'm a fat biffer anyway
K&N Filter - Fitted - Pipercross looks better tho - but K & N will have to do for now
Intake Stacks - did i read somewhere that you can use two long ones instead of a long and short and it improves performance??
Dynojet & Dynowork - How much difference can i really expect?
Gearing - Two up on rear
Tyres - Changed from a 010 on the front and a 020 on the back to Dunlop 209gp's
Stance - Rear up about 8mm - forks down though yolks about 8mm - front tyre gets hot now :D
Might go fat bars - see how my back does

When at cadwell i was really pleased with her overall performance - altered the stance and set up std suspension as the feel from the front wasn't great and there was no heat getting into the front compared to the back and she sat up a bit on the brakes whilst leant over - now a lot better but am adjusting to suit new tyres.

I think thats it but let me know what you think.

Cheers me dears

hi mate.
as far as a blade front end is concerned, i did a cbr954 swap and it stands me in about £300 all parts bought via ebay.
also as i'm a bigger bloater than yourself, i just bought a hagon shock built to my weight and riding style, great blokes at hagon, it took them 4 days to build and deliver and it cost £380.
intake stacks, theres a fella on ebay usa thats been selling a pair for months, i think there over priced.

or you could join the superhawk forum and do a search for dr honda, he also sells them not sure how much tho.
according to a few people who have tried nearly everything, the best filter to go for is the bmc road filter.
and lastly i've yet to dyno my bike but i'm to understand it can make a big difference.
and finally alot of people swear by a factory pro kit rather than a dynojet kit.

i hope that helps you fella............
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
