Cbr600rr 03-4
You will need the sub loom also
They are lighter
Burn cleaner
And the revs pick up faster
But no dyno to prove it just seat of pants testing
Can't ride but it don't stop me trying

Re: stick coil advice
FWIW, I believe mine are from a 2007 CBR600RR.
I stumbled onto this mod a while back on the Speedzilla forum as a few chaps were running these on their SPs, with reports of quicker starting and better response. I have been running mine for just shy of two years now and have no problesm to report. I installed them and a BMC street filter at the same time and it really woke the bike up. One of the Superhawkforum members (Tweety), who has his own dyno, reported a 2 bhp gain whne he tried them (he was so surprised, he double checked by putting the original coils back in and saw the power drop by 2 bhp....) As for the weight loss, I weighed all the bits on my digital scale and making the switch saves 0.8 lb......
A cheap mod with no real downside.

Re: stick coil advice
I am looking into doing this over the winter, and as you end up with 4 coils from the cbr600, I imagine that you can do 2 FireStorms from the parts you get.
Lloydie, is it possible to split the loom to convert 2 bikes?
If it is, I will put two coils and the required loom up for sale on here after I buy some off a breakers.

Re: stick coil advice
I should have 2coils spare as I just ordered 4 for £40, but you will need to get your own loom as I have got the offer of the wiring from muppet ( who spotted that you can get the coils as single items from some breakers)
So £20 for the 2 coils with a couple of quid to cover postage if any one is interested.

Certainly did, fitted and happy; thanks muchly.lloydiecbr wrote:Yep as tony mon had the other two

A bit lighter, but for me the main thing was clearing access on the lh side for a feed for ram air.
Not got that sorted yet, but with winter looming, I will have a bit of a play.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: stick coil advice
link to the USA site for some good photos on how to modify the stick coils to seal in the firestorm

Re: stick coil advice
Added photos of my seal mod, as the 600 coils are shorter than the ones in the super hawk photos, but got it to work nicely.

And for the wiring, green on the Storm loom is ground, and black on the new stick loom is ground, so join those wires together, the other colour is the live and it will be different for each coil, so ignore the colour and join them up

Re: stick coil advice
nice job, notice any improvements ? oh and have you fitted the stacks yet ?
Re: stick coil advice
Not ridden it yet, still doing the rest of the front coil wiring and fitting heated grips, so don't think I will be out on it till spring at the rate I am working!

Re: stick coil advice
Al , how long did you make the LT wires so they fit comfortably? I am going to make up new leads in the correct colours (yeah I know!) using new connectors in the original housings. Thanks for any pointers mate, I can then make them up and plug & play. Re: stick coil advice
I made the front one 50cm long and used some of the original HT lead sheathing to cover the wires where it loops up over the oil cooler.
The rear was done at 37cm long.
Both these lengths have a bit to spare, but better too long than too short .........one of the rules of life
And as I cut up the original coils I hope I got it correct or it won't start
