How to fit stick coils

Post by lloydie »

You will need stick coils from a cbr600rr 3-6
And your old coil plugs
Wire cutter
Insolation tap
Soldering iron and solder

Cut the plug of the vtr coil but leave the wires long enough to solder to the cbr's sub loom .
Now cut the cbr's sub loom so you have two wires per plug .
Then solder the cbr's plug to the vtr
Plug
the total length should be rear 37cm and the front 50cm.
those are a bit longer than needed, but better too long than too short

Green vtr to the black cbr's that's the earth
The other colour is the live
Then tape up

Now fit to the vtr's loom
When you have done that its time to test fit the coil and you will find it will wobble
The best way to stop this is to do what amcq46 did .
Cut up the vtr's plug cap and glue in place , Image

Now start it up and enjoy as you will now have 2bhp more
