Hi all. Another question.
I need to get my storm home.
Trouble is she aint charging.
The new battery may arrive sooner than the rectifier.
Currently charging at 8.4 volts.
If i out the new battery on only will it get me 40 miles home?
Also without doing the new battery in?

If your insurance provides breakdown recovery then best use that. Bunging the new battery in without also replacing the dodgy R/R risks damaging the new battery.

If you do attempt to ride it back have a back up plan in case you get stranded betwixt home and where you've stashed it, and a bit like Apollo 13, keep as much of the electrics and accessories switched off, ie, lights, indicators, etc to keep the power draw to a minimum.

Thanks for the offer of the van.That is very kind. I couldborrow a trailer if need be. I have bought the bike but with a faulty charging system.
