My first V2

Post by chemomche »

Hi, it`s been a few months since i got my Furestorm(yep i am in Europe).

It initially was planed as a bike just for cruising, because i already had a bike for the track and for fun, my precious KTM 620 turned to SuMo bike.

I wanted i bike that i will only ride and not spend time for modding and upgrading....but, as alway the thing seem to turn different

Here is the bike how i bought it

I got it cheap, already pretty modded:

GSXR750 USD front end - 6 pots, 320mm rotors

Carbon cans

BMC air filter

fuel pump - tought it was OEM

CBR929 fairings, Castrol replica paint

Xenon spot light

(got it without the radial MC's and the steering damper)

The bike was not stopping good with the 6 pot and original MC so i put a 19mm NISSIN radial one. Got a set ot Ferodo SinterGrip pads and braided lines. Still haven`t installed the pads but the bike feels a lot better with the radial MC.

Reading the forum i had make a wish list for mods that will be done(may be not soon but some day)

- TPS mod - pretty easy and free

- Manual CCT - already bought OEM cbr cct and will make two manuals with the samo mesurements

- since i got cans and filter i need to play with the carbs - i am thinkig of 2 long funnels(got a spare air box with the bike) and shimming the needles may be 48 pilots also. I got an idea for SP1 funnels, also two long, but the seem more like Dr Honda`s and may be better.

- rear shock spacer - cheap and easy, then way not

- ignition advance - searching a way to make a cheap one myslelf

- pair removal - may be plus oil catch tank

- Iriduim sparkplugs - not sure if i already got them

- lighten the flywheel - looking for spare flywheel to do this, will not risk mine

this is the list for now

i know it will not give more hp on dyno, but i seek for throttle response and drivability, which are, IMHO more important than dyno numbers

hi and welcome
i'm loving the fairings and endurance race look, i also like the painted frame/swingarm/rear subframe and bits and pieces.
where abouts in europe are you? because i have a spare standard flywheel you could have reasonably cheaply, depends on postage tho.
keep us informed of your progress with the bike......

Welcom to the forum, the bike looks to have had loads of work on it. The fairing suits the bike and produces a good line. Get the cct's done sooner rather than later to avoid a major bill featuring in your near future! Keep us posted on your progress.

Don't bother modifying the timing rotor- It's more trouble than its worth, just buy a 4 degree Factory Pro one.

Although its possible to file the original one, checking it to see what advance you'll get throughout the whole range is not easy.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Judging by the .bg domain tag on the photos I'd say he's in Bulgaria.

i am from Bulgaria, but it is no problem if you can ship it to UK - i got someone to collect the parts for me in UK when i buy from ebay.co.uk

i found a workshop that can machine maunal ccts for about 20 paunds a piece but they will not do less than 20 pieces
so i am looking for more candidates for cct to give an order

i got the bike this way, not sure what modifications are made to fit the fairings
i see custom brackets but they are not made so well i will need to make them again

not sure if it is due to the fairings or the front end but the brake and clutch master cylinders hit the clocks when i turn the handlebars

do not have much time to ride or for mods, but will keep you informed whats going on with the storm
