Experimentation type thingy!

Post by Jester666 »

Off to see the folks tomorrow (23rd) for a few days and I thought it might be a giggle (I'm easily pleased!) to see how filthy the bike is going to get with a 190 mile each way trip plus a possible trip to Matlock Bath on Boxing Day.

So today I gave the beasty a bit of a wash.

The before pic!

The after pic will be posted afgter I get back on the 27th. :D

The whole bike is going black!

Bodywork, subframe, frame, wheels, engine, fork bottoms and the cans wil be resleeved in carbon!

nice one jester, just a suggestion tho, if all the bike is going to be black, i would consider painting the engine in the later colour 2001/2006 not sure what its called bronzy-ish, i'm sure someone will know, i think it would just break up the stealthy look a little bit, i must admit to loving the total black look and if my exhaust wasn't titanium i would deffo have carbon cans aswell, my swingarm and rear subframe are going to be satin black, i'm still pondering the frame at the mo?
have you started a thread in the pimp section buddy, post as many pictures aswell........

PJ1 part# 899-104 CRF/XR Gold Engine paint

Remover: 99-165

Lacquer: 899-122

Last saw a can as a family heirloom on the Antique Roadshow fetching a fortune...

Well it was a bit of a failed experiment really!

The rain on the way up to Chesterfied was so heavy it washed all the muck off and the Matlock run and Ladybower Reservoir run AND the run home were all on dry roads!

Still, I can try again the next time I go up there! :D
