PVM Viper SP1/SP2, what tools to make fit rear

Post by seb421 »

Hi ive fancied a CBR1000RR4 rear on a Storm for ages, seen all sorts of others done R1 etc but very few RR4's forgot i had this pic saved its been a while since i seen it

This real bike and that mock up by raptor and rockerts are the only ones i have on the PC

Just wondering what type of welder and other tools would you require to fab up the subframe like so it fit like this one

i know its a different frame with the SP2/Sp1 but it cant be that hard to fab one up for the storm can it?

From that site you linked to with pics it was made by http://www.pvm-racing.ch/

You could contact them to see what was involved

Should be similar to the process described here if you haven't already found and studied it

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

mig is best imo for light steel work.
i have small oxy kit hat i use for light stuff & brazing if you're stuck...
but for ally you need tig.
i know a guy who can do it for you for a few £ - he'l probably do it mobile rather than you deliver the frame to him.
let us know if you want his number or i'll pass your number to him and you can sort sumat out between yer :)
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Cheers mate, considering attempting the Mod in the new year, will have a look at this one (RR4) and the back off an RR3, has a large boot area does that.

will have to get the tank sorted orange first tho

The upper mount from a GXR750 fits, the lower will need a cut'n'shut, but easy enough, if you like those rear ends.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
