I have been thinking for awhile to upgrade the brakes to the cbr one's but not a great fan of the m/c it comes with (SQ bulky one?)AMCQ46 wrote:Black & silver scheme works well, the bike looks good![]()
You say you are going to fit a new m/c for the front brakes, as a suggestion you should have a read at the thread I started on caliper upgrades [in workshop section, and Wicky just linked it for another question today].
A bigger diam m/c will give you a stiffer lever feel, but less braking power, as the leverage ratio has gone down. I quoted a section from a PB article where they tested various configuration and compared the data logger vs which the rider thought was the best brakes. the rider thought he had better brakes with the bigger m/c, but the braking distance was longer!!!!
best mod for the storm is to fit calipers with bigger piston area, and a master cyl to match.....I used CBR600 parts, and can say it is a great improvement
