This has been covered so many times before but i just want to clear something up. I want to check/adjust my CCTS, so i do it on idle while the engine is warm, its ok for me to slowly wind them out until it starts to rattle, then just wind them in very slowly until the rattle just stops?
Ill probably get ripped for asking this as its been covered so many times before, i just want to check im not doing engine damage by having them at this tension.
Manual CCTS
Re: Manual CCTS
Exactly right, mate.
No need to worry that the chain will jump, as in order to be that slack the bolt would have to be undone quite a lot, never bothered measuring how far but in excess of four full turns.
So a flat at a time, and as you say, hear the rattle then nip it up a flat.
Do it when the engine's nice and warm.
It may rattle slightly when cold, but that's ok.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
