She was born with Trigger Finger which, oddly enough, effected not her finger but both thumbs. The poor little devil couldn't straighten them any more than shown here:

A few months ago we saw a specialist who said it will need an operation to fix them. We then received a letter saying they are going to wait until she is 2 years old to give it time to sort itself out, if it will. As suspected, it didn't sort itself out and we had another consultation last week. A letter followed and the pre op was Tuesday. Yesterday she was taken in as a day patient and under general anesthetic both her little thumbs were cut open and the tendon released so she can move her thumb normally.
After a good 40 minutes the was returned screaming in tantrum to Mrs Pinky and myself. She eventually calmed down, ate a bit of toast, drank a little and threw up. Charming! After her barf she went straight back into the toast like she'd never been fed before and demolished most of it and the colour came back to her cheeks. We waited around like idiots until mid afternoon before being given the all clear to take the little one home.
She has to keep the dressings on for 2 weeks and try not to get them wet, which as you can imagine, asking a 2 year old to keep her hands dry is like pissing against the wind. She has already decided to splash them in the cat water bowl.
By the late evening as you can see:

Baby satan seems to be fine and dandy and suffering no ill effects from her experience.
