Try adjusting the cct's, back them out until you just hear a slight tapping noise, then in until the noise stops.

K+N won't make it run hot.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Yep, but usually not enough to notice on the temp gauge, just the plug colour. And not in this weather, either.
(Hmmm, unless it's a later one with digi readout, a few degrees might show up then...) Is it?

yeh thing is the temp gauge only shows coolant temp.... as in it doesnt show oil temp and stuff...if its running lean you can smell its hotter...
like the things that arent cooled get hotter, noticeably the headers, melting the belly lol! 8O

You might be right, Benny.
- if the original air filter was clogged up the difference might be noticeable.
Try putting the old filter back in and see if temp drops again?

If so, refit the K+N and take it to be jetted and set up properly. Not normally noticeable, though- fitted lots of these, and no-one's commented before....

By the way, what cans are on it, and any other engine work?

no other engine work done to my knowledge, viper cans. only done a couple of hundred miles on the old airfilter, and temp is probably me
being over cautious. the fan cuts in and cools it back down, just coming on more than usual in traffic ect

You'll have a bit more power; that produces a bit more heat.

It's not a sensitive engine, so although it's probably running a bit lean it won't burn holes in the pistons, as it's quite a low compression engine.

Probably a good die to get the jets changed, but not in my opinion essential or needed before you can ride it.
