The scammers hack ebay accounts and keep posting the same 'cheap' bike. There isn't a bike and they want payment outside of ebay direct to dubious back accounts based in midlands whilst falsely saying ebay offers the buyer protection via another disposable email account outside of ebay comms. Ebay and bank/s (in Leicester) don't give a hoot - hence why they keep coming back as it must be good earner.

Usually classified ads are done in person but this time due to my location and since view is not an option I have requested personal support and I was approved to use Buyer Protection Program.
To start the official transaction, I need to know your delivery information. As soon as I have them I'll start the official procedure, and eBay will send further instructions including payment and delivery terms.
Thank you
Then they send a html made up to look official ebay invoice to pay direct to a supposed ebay intermediary that holds the money till the bike is delivered. But there isn''t a bike and they romp of with the dosh without a care in the world.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

for safety reasons eBay id's should be IP logged and have to be user approved via email when a new device is added such as an iPhone etc or have the user option to turn this on and off so that other people with your account cant use it under a different ip address than registered with

you should be able to log in and watch under an unknown unregistered ip but not be able to list, edit or purchase

i realise people some times switch providers which will mean a new base ip address for most but there will be a work around for this I'm sure

Would stop alot of these bullshit listings

Very interesting. Paying for anything of significant value without seeing it, is the actual scam. Hell, if people are that stupid......

It's not quite a simple as that seb. Thing's can be re-routed and What about scammers remotely accessing someone else account via that persons computer. If someones computer has been compromised then the scammer will be able to see and control things. But Ebay don't give a flying wombles as long as they are making money.

And yes people are that stupid, hence the reason peoples computers are compromised. How many people use secure passwords and keep their machines and networks secure

OK going phishing :Fish:
