Re: rear shock spacer ???
i bought one but never used it(i lost it somewhere) but talking to most people that have used one and they will tell you it makes a big difference to the handling of the bike....
all you need is a few 3mm washers, it shouldn't cost you more than a £1.....

Re: rear shock spacer ???
the shims on ebay come at 6mm is 1 enough ?? or have people uses 2 ?
Re: rear shock spacer ???
6mm is more than enough. The seller will make three 2mm or two 3mm if you contact them. You may find 6mm too much and get on better with 3mm. It's one of those things you need to try to see how it feels for you. What front forks have you got?
By adding a spacer it also increases the lean of the bike on the sidestand. http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... =sidestand so take this into consideration as well.
I have a 6mm on the standard rear shock and have dropped the original forks by 10mm and it has improved the handling on my bike immensely.

Re: rear shock spacer ???
i just have the standard front folks ... as for the side stand wat have u done with that ?? or have u just left it as it is ?>?
Re: rear shock spacer ???
I have left it as is for now. I'm just careful of where and what angle the surface is that I park on. I may or may not change the sidestand at a later date. For now it does not bother me too much.

so its not a seriously high chance my bike wud fall then ?

Re: rear shock spacer ???
Just be very careful where you park. No potholes, steep angles etc. It has been known for them to fall over http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... =sidestand

Re: rear shock spacer ???
Think ill go with the x-11 side stand as advised cheers for that

Re: rear shock spacer ???
No worries. The X11 is just a naked Blackbird cbr1100. Good luck with the mod. I think you will be impressed how adding a spacer can make such a difference. Before I added mine and dropped the forks, my steering was awful, found myself having to cut corners and if I left the turn to late it wasn't pretty. Now I have so much more control and can leave the turn in a bit later.
Have Fun.
