Replacement Exhausts

Hi,

I'm thinking of changing the pipes as the standard ones are just too quiet for me. Can anyone give me advice on the most suitable replacement pipes and also if rejetting is required etc? Also the down pipes are past their best, is it possible to find aftermarket down pipes or is it genuine Honda only?

Heres a selection for you to compare mate. The Scorpions on mine haven't required jetting the bike but the next step is a filter which I will be jetting to compensate for.

The link for Sandy Bike Spares doesn't seem to work but there is a phone number, they do replacement stainless steel downpipes/headers.

However....save some money, get an electric drill fit a wire brush attachment & clean the downpipes first. The front one does get rather manky
but most of it will come off & it will be far cheaper than buying a new set.

As for the exhausts your first step is too rip the baffles out, or do a ''Baffleoctomy'' (Try a search,use box top right...)
It will explain how to do this.....

If it's new cans your after a lot of them don't need re jetting & come with removable baffles for MOT time, however mine passed with the de baffed cans & has since passed with the even louder Harris cans it now wares.

Prices new do vary as there are lots of manufactures out there trying to get your hard earned..... Advice as too which brand is subjective, you by what you like the look of + price comes into it. I would advise you not to buy DanMoto pipes off e-bay, cheap Chinese, very loud but poor welding apparently.

If it's just the noise your after try the de baffled cans, if it's noise & a bit of power then aftermarket cans + air filter + re jetting = more cash.

Apart from noise alone any aftermarket cans will weigh a lot less than the standard cans & will save you kilo's in weight.

My Harris cans are 6 kg lighter than the standard cans!

Having said that if you buy the set of de baffled cans from me your bike wont be any lighter, but your wallet will be a few pounds lighter.....

Hi, I bought the stainless one's from Sandy's bike spares, they were excellent in quality and finish, then I completed the job with Danmoto Conical GP slip ons, now I have a complete stainless exhaust system, easy to maintain with Autosol polish, and the sound is awesome, you'll might consider buying the bafflers for the pipe though.
