Just wondering what they are all about and how we are supposed to use them. Also what differentiates these from the usual emotions on the right. I noticed the Big Grin is there so there must be a difference. And why are they not on every post.

Where are you looking? 
They're normally used for either the thread's "icon" on the list if it's a new topic or to the left or your posts' title if it's a normal post.

I don't see the point in them , but it's strange because they only come up when posting in the Who's who section. The standard set of emotions are on the right as well.

For a moment I thought the admin had added something new or updated the PHP script, until I posted in other sections. Then realised it was only within whos who. Bizzare.
